Kehila Heschel School’s administration and faculty are part of a dynamic and innovative team of professionals who are dedicated to encouraging their students’ love of learning as they develop academically and personally. Our faculty work together in providing a warm and welcoming kehila-environment for our students and their families.

  • Anita Bernstein

    Director of Education

    Morah Anita is an educator with more than 30 years of experience and has been involved with Kehila Heschel since its inception as a member of the Founding Board of Directors. In 2018 she stepped in as Director of Education to oversee the incorporation of the Heschel Educational Philosophy with the original Kehila curriculum.

  • Michele Schneider

    OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

    Michele has been at Kehila since 2012 and brings years of experience to her position from her previous work at the Hamilton JCC and Temple Playhouse. Michele has a wide portfolio – a few of her roles include office administration, teacher support and nurse/bandaid provider.

  • Zehava Chaimovitz

    HEBREW & JUDAICA LEAD TEACHER

    Morah Zehava has been teaching at Kehila since the year 2000 just after Kehila’s inception. Zehava brings to Kehila Heschel her background as a native Israeli, and over thirty years teaching in Hebrew school in Canada. Zehava was the recipient of the 2018 Greenspoon Award for Excellence in Education

  • Linda Geva

    LEAD GENERAL STUDIES TEACHER

    Morah Linda, was the recipient of the 2020 Greenspoon Award for Excellence in Education. She is an experienced educator who taught in South Africa and Israel before joining the Kehila Heschel team in 2002. Linda is the lead general studies teacher who welcomes and introduces our youngest students to the Kehila Heschel experience.

  • Carlyn Rhamey

    PRIMARY SECULAR TEACHER AND SPECIAL EDUCATOR

    Morah Carlyn has 15+ years of experience working with children and youth. She is a professional storyteller and multidisciplinary artist, performing in schools across Ontario. As an arts educator, Carlyn programs and facilitates courses and workshops for all ages. She has a background in Special Education and a passion for accessibility and disability advocacy. Morah Carlyn joined the Kehila Heschel team in September 2022

  • Liat Geva

    RECE AND SPECIAL EDUCATION

    Morah Liat was born in South Africa and moved to Israel when she was a young child. She emigrated to Canada in 2002 with her family. Her love for children and working in a Day Care as a teenager inspired her to qualify as an ECE. (Early childhood educator). Further studies got her a degree in Sociology. Liat started working at Kehila in September 2022 and is a big part of our Kindergarten program.

  • ALIX DUJARDIN

    PRIMARY FRENCH TEACHER

    Madame Alix grew up in France and came to Canada to pursue her doctoral studies in science. During her two years of doctoral studies, she realized that her love of teaching children inspired her to turn her PhD into a Master's degree to be able to pursue teaching. Madame Alix joined the Kehila Heschel team in September 2023.
